About the event
The intermediate camp expands on foundational skills and introduces more technical, scenario‑based learning. Campers meet at the Del Norte County Library at 7:50am and travel to diverse field sites chosen for terrain variety and challenge. Instruction includes:
Advanced plant identification, including edible and medicinal species
Multi‑step shelter construction and weather‑resistant design
Fire‑building using varied ignition methods and natural tinder
Applied lost‑proofing through navigation games and route‑finding
Functional wild art using natural tools and pigments
