About the event

This introductory day camp gives young adventurers a solid grounding in essential survival skills. Campers are picked up at the Del Norte County Library at 7:50am and travel to a variety of outdoor locations throughout the region. Instruction focuses on:


Basic plant identification and simple traditional uses


Introductory shelter building using natural materials


Safe fire‑building fundamentals


Lost‑proofing habits and awareness


Creative wild art projects
